If you drink German wine, you may have come across the terms Auslese, Spätlese, Beerenauslese and Trockenbeerenauslese. I suppose we can split the family of words in two groups
– Auslese… meaning the type of wine, probably what you mean with “vintage” ?
– Lese, the Harvest
The first family refering to the special type of grape genetics
The second to the Harvest type (Spät, etc..)
Of course, German language and good wine is incompatible 😉
