About

I’ve decided to take the plunge and try to write a daily post about my adventures in learning German.  I’ve titled the blog Earthquake Words for two reasons.  Firstly, learning a new language can really shake you up and in fact that was one of my goals in coming to Germany.  Secondly, as a non-native speaker words that sound alike but have different meanings can also shake you up and the pair Erdbeben and Erdbeeren was one of the first that was shared with me by another non-native speaker (they mean earthquake and strawberries, respectively).
